Our Fees
Under 3 Year Olds
We charge a flat fee of $7.00 per hour for the hours of care you require. This rate includes all meals provided during the day, including morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea.
3–5 Year Old Children
20 Hours ECE is available for eligible children aged 3–5 who are New Zealand citizens, residents, or hold an eligible visa. This is a government funding scheme that contributes up to 20 hours per week of early childhood education at participating centres (capped at 6 hours per day), helping to reduce the cost of childcare for families.
At The Coastal Cove, we apply an optional fee of $2.50 per hour for these funded hours. This fee is also capped at 6 hours per day.
Children attending longer than 6 hours per day will be charged the standard hourly rate ($7.00 per hour) for any additional hours.
Example: 6-hour days (9:00am – 3:00pm)
Day 1: 6 ECE hours → $15.00
Day 2: 6 ECE hours → $15.00
Day 3: 6 ECE hours → $15.00
Day 4: 2 ECE hours remaining → $5.00
4 hours at $7.00 → $28.00
= $33.00 total
Day 5: 6 hours at $7.00 → $42.00
This reflects the 6 + 6 + 6 + 2 = 20 funded hours,
after which the standard hourly rate applies.
At no extra cost to our families
We are passionate about providing learning opportunities to all children attending our centre, which is why our centre pays for extra curricular activities for our children to take part in and enjoy on a very regular basis.
Play Ball
Each Monday, we have Playball coaches come in to hold sport skill sessions, giving our children the opportunity to build confidence, coordination and physical skills through fun, age-appropriate activities.
Dance Classes
Every Friday, we have Miss Claire from Little Leaps come into the centre to hold dance sessions for our toddlers and preschoolers. It’s a fun way to build confidence, movement and self-expression.
Excursions
We love taking our learning beyond the centre, with regular excursions and experiences that help children explore their local community and connect what they learn with the world around them. This includes fluffies, and the odd treat from our local cafe and shops!
Events
We love creating special moments and celebrating together. Throughout the year, we hold events and experiences that bring our children, teachers and families together and make memories along the way.
